Yesterday was the best work day ever. It started off with a beautiful morning and a nice rollerblade to work. At 9:30 Dmitri was in my office giving me the tasks for the next week and suddenly the lights all go out. Everything stopped, the computers, the robots, the air conditioning. Some of the other students and I decided to go outside and play volleyball until the power was back since there was nothing we could do until then. At 10:30 we saw a couple of the head Alcan guys here come outside and start talking to people. We thought there were telling us to come back in but actually the electricity problem was more serious so they told us just to leave and come back at 1:30. SWEET! So we left for our 3 hour lunch break and walked down to the lake. The day was still hot and sunny with a big blue sky and a hint of a breeze. We played hackysack and walked around for a couple hours and then met the girls at Peel Pub for lunch on the patio. At 1:30 we called the Alcan front desk to see if the power was back on...nope, come back on Thursday! YEAH WOO WOO WOO!! That's when the fun really started. We stocked up at Canadian Tire on everything we'd need for a day at the beach: volleyball, net, rope for lines, sunscreen, and made our way down to the beach volleyball court at the Queen's residence. There we played volleyball, sat in the sun, and laughed about how it was so nice to still be getting paid $20 an hour to do this. We packed it in at 6:30, went home, showered, ordered Chinese food, drank 4 beers each, and got ready for the Calgary playoff game. I was forced to take a quick nap from the beer and sun so I was well rested to watch CALGARY WIN THE SERIES!! It was the greatest end to a great day.

Today isn't so great. I discovered I burned myself a bit more than I thought, it's cloudy and overcast, and I have to be at work. Of course I'm sitting here talking to you guys, but still, I have to be here. It only took one great day for me to get used to the idea of not working during the week. I really like it. Maybe I can go find that transformer they replaced and throw some water on it, give us the afternoon off. Actually, I'll do that tomorrow so we can leave early for Montreal. This is going to be a great long weekend. Hope the rest of you have a weekend as great as my Wednesday! Later peeps.
