Good morning all. What a successful weekend. I got around 30 hours of sleep, really helped to recharge. Spent most of that energy on Saturday golfing though. The tournament was great. We left Alcan at 10:30 for Belleville and cracked our first beers shortly after. Jen, you Homer Simpson bottle opener was a hit! Our group was the second off the tees, right behind the girls. I think Ken was the only one to hit it straight...and that barely made the fair way. Yeah, off to a great start I know. It got a lot better after that. We kept the snack-cart girl busy for most of the day, buying beer and sandwiches. In the end we were only 5 over par, with 2 birdies and 7 bogies. We used a lot of my drives and a couple of my iron shots, maybe one of my putts. Ken and Chris took care of most of the middle work and putting. Eric recorded 6 shots of our 77, and was super happy. Of course we let him take first crack at most of the 2 foot puts but he still did very well for his first time out. Around 5:00 we traded in our rented clubs for some gin and tonics and watched as the rest of the groups started to limp in. At 6:30 there was a catered supper, steak and apple pie! (yes there was a lot more, but I just mention the highlights) After the food was done there were some prizes giving out. The winning team shot a score of 60, 12 under par. Eric was about to dispute that, saying that we had done way better with our 77, but we stopped him before he made a fool of himself (just kidding Eric). I won a pair of "19th hole" beer glasses, Ken and Chris got $10 gift certificates to Canadian Tire, and Eric's envelope said "Sorry, try again". The ride back was short, and I was home in time to see the start of the second period. I already wrote about my emotional turmoil and later depression. Tonight is game 7! I still haven't decided where I'm going to freak out... I mean, where I'm going to watch the game. I may need some of those tranq pills to keep me in my seat. GO FLAMES GO!! GO FLAMES GO!! GO FLAMES GO!!
